I recorded a new lead vocal on "Summer By the Bay" today, and now we're doing the final mix. Jeremy Goody at the desk.
In this clip, Jeremy is balancing the saxophone (Jeff Hobbs) and the rhythm guitar (David Gans), which sit on opposite sides of the mix and occupy complementary niches in the audio spectrum. Then he'll reintroduce the rest of the instruments into the stereo mix and readjust things to fit them into the greater context.
This is what mixing is all about (and why it's so much fun): making all the instruments fit together in the stereo picture and in the audio spectrum.
The album is titled “Drop the Bone.” I am running an Indiegogo campaign to get it finished and released. Please click through and sign up for a download ($15) or a signed CD ($25). And share the link, too, if you're so inspired. Thanks!
